“Autumn Peltier is a 15-year-old, indigenous, clean water activist. She’s a member of the Wikwemikong First Nation in northern Ontario, Canada. Even at such a young age, Peltier has already done a lot to raise awareness of water rights, and ensure communities have access to safe drinking water. Fifteen, and a Water Warrior !.
Notably, she met with Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau in 2016. In that meeting, she, in tears, insisted that he does more to prevent Canadian communities from consuming unsafe water (The Rising (October 4th, 2019).
This is another young inspirational leader to look up to. Water is absolutely essential for all forms of life. Clean water is essential for us not only to remain safe from diseases but also to maintain good health. Many people die every year of diarrheal diseases like cholera because of polluted water.
